02:17
< SouthernMyst>
I know it's not code, but I don't know who else to ask, so hopefully one of you bright people can help me...
02:20
< SouthernMyst>
I've plugged in my wireless router, reset it, connected to it, (connected also via network cable), opened its web-based setup page, renamed it, reconnected to it, set a WPA2 key, ... and can't connect now.
02:20
< SouthernMyst>
I've just changed it to a WPA key, but that doesn't look like it's doing anything, either.
02:21
<@Derakon>
You should be able to reset it to factory defaults by pressing buttons/unplugging it in certain ways.
02:21
< SouthernMyst>
Yes, I did that at the beginning.
02:21
< SouthernMyst>
And then I wanted to secure it with a password, rather than just have a wide-open network.
02:21
<@Derakon>
Right.
02:22
< SouthernMyst>
Did I miss something?
02:22
<@Derakon>
Okay, I though the question was "waugh my router is useless to me now how do I fix it?" when it's actually "okay, how do I configure this so it actually does what I want?"
02:23
< SouthernMyst>
Sorry, didn't give an actual question, did I? My bad. Yes, did I miss something in the giving it a password bit?
02:23
<@Derakon>
Networking is not my strong suit, I'm afraid.
02:25
< SouthernMyst>
Ah, well, thanks hun
02:25
<@Consul>
If you stick around, someone will probably see this who can help.
02:26
<@Consul>
In fact, you got me thinking I should get my wireless network better secured.
02:28
< SouthernMyst>
heh.
02:29
<@gnolam>
Pfft. If people secured their networks, where then would I get all my free internet access? ;)
02:29
< SouthernMyst>
well, seeing as I'm borrowing the net while visiting relatives, I'll delegate the "sticking around" bit to TW, rather than leave this all hooked up in my uncle's office constantly. ;)

<@Vornicus>
hey Janus!
06:41
< Janus>
Been a long time!
06:42
<@Vornicus>
Yes it has.
06:42
<@Vornicus>
How is that game you were making coming?
06:43
< Janus>
... what game? (that can't be a good sign)
06:43
<@Vornicus>
Heh, join the club.
06:44 * Janus gets a T-shirt!
06:45
<@Vornicus>
Honestly I can't remember anything particular about it. There was an awesome bit of continuous-world pathfinding around round objects that I helped you with, and some random thing where you got OpenGL to draw an arena wall, but that's... all I remember.
06:46
< Janus>
Oooooh yeah, that! Aha. I think I used SDL to render that with. I remember since it rendered at -2 frames per second or something.
06:46
<@Vornicus>
heh
06:47 * Vornicus has also hopped from project to project.
06:48
<@Vornicus>
Right now I'm working on a remake of the 1990 strategy game King's Bounty.
06:48
<@Vornicus>
(which has gotten a bit of a revival lately)
06:48
< Janus>
King's Bounty... (wikipedia, up and at 'em!)
06:49
<@Vornicus>
You are a powerful bounty hunter. You throw together an army, fight baddies, capture castles and villains, and find the scepter of order, all on a time limit.
06:49
<@Vornicus>
If you've played an HoMM game, it's like that, except you're the only hero and you don't get to develop castles.
06:49
< Janus>
King Maximus doesn't like to be kept waiting, I see!
06:50
<@Vornicus>
Made by the same guys.
06:56
< Janus>
Looks interestin', from what I see. Can't wait to play it, sometime~
06:57 * Janus has no idea what a HoMM game is, though. Except that there's more than one hero, and they are also urban planners.

Heroes of Might And Magic: you control a kingdom, and can hire heroes to command armies.
06:59
<@Vornicus>
You develop your castle to produce more, and more advanced, units, and send your heroes out to find treasures, fight other heroes, and conquer other castles.
07:01
< Janus>
Ah. Yeah, I've heard of that name before. I thought that was some arcade hack and slash game though. I must be getting my name and description wires crossed.
07:03
<@Vornicus>
Might and Magic is something different.
07:05
<@ToxicFrog>
Although it's still not a hack and slash, really.
07:05
<@Vornicus>
No.
07:05
<@Vornicus>
Wizards and Warriors is hack and slash.
07:05
<@ToxicFrog>
It's a...uniquely demented series of RPGs.
07:06 * Vornicus hasn't played M&M
07:06
<@AnnoDomini>
I think I played the demo of one of them.
07:06
<@AnnoDomini>
I concur that it's... special.

13:58
<@Reiver>
Not Kings Bounty?
14:02
<@McMartin>
?
14:03

14:22
<@Doctor_Nick>
;o
14:22
<@Doctor_Nick>
:3
15:05
<@Vornicus-Latens>
but, they did break the game. Using the classic trick, though, not anything with Bridge.
16:44
<@ToxicFrog>
Yeah. It's Clone and Time Stop that broke it.
16:45
<@McMartin>
Clone isn't nearly as awesome without Raise Control.
16:46
<@McMartin>
Time Stop seems less like breaking it and more like "Absolutely necessary if you want to actually finish the game completely"
16:48
<@ToxicFrog>
Mmm, true.
