Man, memory bloat is really showing.
15:06
< abudhabi_>
I've had this system installed like two or three major versions of Mint ago.
15:06
< abudhabi_>
Back then, I could have like ten or twenty kernels on the 500 Mb default size /boot.
15:06
< abudhabi_>
Now I can't fit three.
15:08
< abudhabi_>
Yet again, I'm fighting the RETARDED UPDATE MANAGER that has decided, against my express wishes, to install some new version of the kernel.

But new kernel betterer!

One possibility that I haven't thought of is that I might have some optional bits that result in the large compiled size.
17:31
< abudhabi>
Not sure how to determine if this is true.

Do /boot and /boot/efi partitions contain anything critical for an encrypted linux drive? Ie. keys.
19:56
< abudhabi>
I've got an encrypted disk with a probably healthy /boot and messed up /boot/efi.
19:57
< abudhabi>
The system is currently running, as this is the result of trying to downsize /boot/efi and assigning the extra space to /boot.
19:58
< abudhabi>
What I'm wondering is if grub reinstall is possible without messing up the encrypted drive in general.
20:10
< abudhabi>
If I understand it right, the actual encrypted partition contains the keys, yes?
