Argh. Naming things.
08:42
<@gnolam>
The thing that is either a bar or a space in a barcode.
08:46
<~Vorntastic>
I'd call it a bar, white or black

< Yossarian>
So, anyone do android dev or play around? I was able to manually root out some spyware from connecting to apparently very dirty wifi APs.
15:13
<~Vornicus>
what
15:13
< Yossarian>
I did this once before but I'm looking at the directory structure in adb shell and I can't find jack shit. I can do pm to list packages but I see a nefarious package and it throws up java errors when I try to uninstall said package... before I was in a directory where the packages existed and I believe I just did rm -r anything that looked like it didn't belong.
15:17
< Yossarian>
Removing malware on Android using adb.
15:25
<@TheWatcher>
... why? At that point, factory reset the bugger, or otherwise nuke and pave it with a new install
15:25
<@TheWatcher>
It's already too far gone to be safe to use.
15:26
< Yossarian>
Aren't some phones not factory resettable? The malware hangs around?
15:29
<@TheWatcher>
DEpends - if you use the "factory reset" throughthe settings it may not be a total erase, but if you use the system recovery wipe/reset option it'll be completely gone
15:39
< Yossarian>
these are cheapo phones but it's been awhile since I rooted mine and a strange bug is why I didn't root my mum's phone. These are really cheap crappy phones.
15:39
< Yossarian>
But I suppose with Google Sync she has nothing really to lose.
15:40
< Yossarian>
They're very cheap phones and Android while I did learn some basic things (I got into the phone's bootloader during work - loading trucks at UPS and then later when I rooted it)
15:41
< Yossarian>
the authority of a lot of information seems to be on the xda dev form
15:45
< Yossarian>
I should have written down the process, though. Some people keep diaries. I just wish I hadn't forgotten exactly what I did.
15:46
< Yossarian>
Maybe I should find a way digitally, I could create markdown documents in vim or see what emacs Org-mode has to offer.
