04:42 * McMartin autogenerates a metric shitload of #defines.
04:49
<@Derakon[AFK]>
Yay!
04:49 Derakon[AFK] is now known as Derakon
04:54 * Derakon mutters.
04:54
<@Derakon>
My sprite rotation appears to not be perfect.
04:55
<@Derakon>
http://derakon.dyndns.org/~chriswei/temp2/rotation.png
04:56
<@Derakon>
Those two wings are attached at equivalent points to the main chassis, and in fact if I rotate the whole thing 180 degrees then I get the reverse problem.
04:56
< C_tiger>
How are you rotating?
04:56
<@Derakon>
Theoretically, with the center held still.
04:56
<@Derakon>
The wings are attached via FK.
04:57
< C_tiger>
FK?
04:57
<@Derakon>
Forward kinematics.
04:57
<@Derakon>
Basically, I have a point on the chassis and a point on the wing, and I say "See these two points? I want them to always be on top of each other." Then I spin the chassis and the wing has to rotate and move to keep up.
05:33 Vornicus [~vorn@ServicesOp.Nightstar.Net] has quit [Ping Timeout]
06:00
<@Derakon>
After a fair amount of debugging, I'm reasonably certain that the rotation routines I've written in the engine are accurate, which means the bug is probably in the FK code.

20:29 Steven is now known as UndeadAnno
20:50 * ToxicFrog eyes this circuit diagram
20:51
<@ToxicFrog>
Ok, wtf
20:51
<@ToxicFrog>
The voltage across this CCVS is -7.5V
20:52
<@McMartin>
CCVS?
20:52
<@ToxicFrog>
Current Controlled Voltage Source
20:53
<@ToxicFrog>
...oh, I see what's happening.
20:53
<@ToxicFrog>
The current controlling it is i4, and it's hooked up so that the reference direction is opposite the actual current direction.
20:54
<@ToxicFrog>
So it becomes a voltage sink.
20:54
<@ToxicFrog>
Or a negative voltage source or whatever the right term is.
20:55 * UndeadAnno hates circuit theory.
20:56
<@McMartin>
"A battery installed backwards"
20:56 * UndeadAnno laughs.
20:56 * UndeadAnno would probably hate it less if the guy teaching it was worth shit.
20:57 * McMartin is really really bad at circuits
20:58
<@ToxicFrog>
I'm familiarizing myself with the sim software.
20:58
<@ToxicFrog>
And praying he never asks us to analyze circuits with interdependent sources in them.
21:00 * gnolam cleverly replaces ToxicFrog with a Thévenin equivalent.
21:01
<@McMartin>
Hee
21:01
<@ToxicFrog>
?
21:02
<@McMartin>
Mainly "Wow, that's a recall neuron thta hasn't fired in many, many years"
21:02 * McMartin eyes gnolam: "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE"
21:02
<@gnolam>
<Chalain> Conductance is 1/futile!
21:03
<@McMartin>
Impedance is about half futile, but it's kind of complex
21:03
<@McMartin>
(I've totally forgotten if Thevenin equivalence is just resistance or impedance too)
21:03
< UndeadAnno>
My brain, my beautiful brain! It's being subjected to circuit theory humour!
21:04
<@McMartin>
You awakened my EE 40 flashbacks.
21:05
< UndeadAnno>
What, you're seeing your family members as EE teachers?
21:06
< UndeadAnno>
It would be fortuitous for you not to have a gun handy.
21:07
< UndeadAnno>
Huh. My sister is playing Chip's Challenge. I remember playing that on Win3.1.
21:08
<@McMartin>
Heh
21:08
<@McMartin>
I remember that game being mean.
21:09
< UndeadAnno>
It did have that, 'try hard enough and you'll eventually be forwarded to the next level' thing.
21:09
<@McMartin>
Heh
21:09
<@McMartin>
Oh, wow
21:10
< UndeadAnno>
I remember that level which was huuuuuuuuge, far too huge for a 7-year old to memorize, that had all the fires and bugs. Damn, I hated that level.
21:11 * McMartin pokes around looking ofr something else, finds his old copy of the Interrupt List.
21:14
< UndeadAnno>
Did you find an Outlaw Culture?
21:14
<@McMartin>
Well, the List was typically used by them, back in the day
21:15
<@McMartin>
I suppose it will come in handy if I ever decide to target 16-bit DOS with an assembler program.
21:26 * ToxicFrog ponders Songbird
21:49
<@ToxicFrog>
It's slow, but this is excusable since everything it's talking to is on another machine.
21:50
<@ToxicFrog>
It's also very memory hungry, which is not.
21:50
<@ToxicFrog>
And it lacks jumpqueue. Aah well, I'll come back to it at v1.0 and see if it's improved any.

22:15 * ToxicFrog flails

I cannot figure out how the fuck I am meant to do this
